Bearded Dragon? Main food..mice?

OK, I was going to get 2 Bearded Dragons for my B-day but now I might not because the petco guy said that they eat mice when they are adults. Now my dad says I probably can't get one but is their main food mice? I know they eat it once in awhile but mainly? No, is that true? I need proof because then my dad might get me one!

You could never feed your Bearded Dragon pinkies (baby mice) and they would be fine. Their main food is veggies and crickets or silkworms.

Heaven..Bearded Dragons main source of foods are crickets, silkworms, a variety of veggies and fruits. Pinkies can be fed occasionally to gravid females or females who just laid eggs. The pet store info was incorrect.

Petco, where the pets go, hopefully to teach the employees correct care procedures.

Never listen to any advice from a petstore employee. In my experience, they are sadly some of the most ignorant people and spread more false information than any other source.

No, you can tell your dad that as adults bearded dragons' diet is roughly 80% veggies and 20% insects. When babies or juveniles that proportion is the opposite.
