I would like to know who injects vitamins into pinkies/mice/rats? Is it really necessary?As I got a 7-10 year old snake who was fed live food all her life,I'm wondering if she gets enough vitamins if I start to feed her f/t! At the pet store where I buy my feeders they do inject extra vitamins into the body of the feeders,once in a while.Ì never done it with my other snakes,and they seem to be healthy.

With a healthy snake it is unnecessary. Snakes get all the nutrients they need from their prey and the stomach contents of that prey animal. In fact too many vitamins can be as dangerous as too little.

Thanks Merlin! I'm glad about it really! I heard that you can give too much and that it is bad for the snake.I hope the pet store knows what they are doing!

I have never added a vitamin supplement to any of my snakes. The f/t are as nutritious as live, and allot less dangerous.
