food changing?

I was wondering if it's ok to change the food from time to time,I mean to give my milk a fuzzy and the next feeding a pinky rat (I heard they are better for younger snakes) and maybe the next two or three feedings a fuzzy mouse again, and then again a pinky rat, and so on and on.... what do you think, good or bad idea? In the wild they don't have the same food all the time too!

It should not be a problem. But 'm just curious why you would want to. Consistancy is a good thin and I don't understand why you would want to mix like that.

It won't hurt them to change around but it really won't have much advantage either. I find what works and stick with it.

Well I guess for the snake it doesn't really make a diffrence?!So I guess for a snake everything tastes the same-lol.If the pinky rats are as big as a fuzzy mouse,is it better for the snake to get her growing ok,as mine is a bit on the small side for her age?!Because I heard that pinky rats are better for "growing -up".What do you think?

It has been debated that "power" feeding can shorten a snakes life. in otherwords over feeding to get the snake to reach sexual maturity.

I don't think there's any big advantage of rats over mice as far as nutrition is concerned. I think rat pups are slightly higher in fat than mice, but that's about it. Not that much of an advantage if you ask me. Rats, being larger than mice, also have more calcium (more bone mass), but if the rat's the same size as the mice you'd use that's a different story.

Size per size rats do have more meat on them. They are more "solid". If you thaw a rat pup and an adult mouse side by side and push your finger against them you can feel the difference. Feeding a similar sized rat as opposed to a mouse is not powerfeeding as long as you are on a proper feeding schedule. Feeding rat pups as opposed to an adult mouse will result in faster growth but not to the point of being dangerous. It is when you really push the food to them that powerfeeding becomes an issue.
