I'm not sure about all snakes but I know some snakes eat eggs, and I was wondering if you were to do that with a pet snake how you would go about having the snake be appetized to the egg? i know you probably couldnt use store bought eggs cuz the shells to hard and stuff like that but I was just curious

Good question!!! I have often wondered this myself. Around here Black Rat Snakes are notorious for raiding farmer's eggs. I don't see why rat snakes couldn't be fed an egg even store bought. I'm sure you would want to let the egg warm up to room temperature though.

Many snakes will eat eggs, but some, like the african egg-eating snake, eat almost nothing but eggs. I've never heard of anyone keeping one as a pet though. The main difference between a store bought egg and one that would be more suitable for a snake is that the store bough one lacks an embryo. You can order eggs online though. They're actually sold to be incubated for people who are in the bird hobby. Quail, ckickens, ducks, you can get them all.

Yes, a friend of ours who owns a pet store had some egg-eaters in a while back. One was too small to eat chicken eggs, so we would take him some quail eggs over, supplied by our landlady who owns quails. They are cool little snakes, but I'm not so sure you could get any snake to eat an egg - those for whom eggs primarily make up their diets are designed for them and have a natural instinct for them, just as most snakes have an instinct to eat mice and rats.
