Try a hardware store. It is quite cheap.

Cut it from the neighbors window in the dead of night, cheaper.
Hardware stores have shrink wraped rolles (~30 feet by 4 feet) of it but ask at a counter for fixing screens and you may be able to buy just as much as you need by the foot.
Will he have to worry whether he uses steel or fiber glass?

Yeah, get the metal screen. The crix will chew through the other stuff.

I got a roll of screen that measured 84"x48" from Home Depot for like $4 or $5. I am not sure how much it is a like Aco or ACE though.

HD is generally cheaper than Ace. at least around here
