PetShop Woes...
I recently noticed Yellow "mites" in my Scorpion tank. They were introduced by the feeder Crickets I had bought at my local shop!
I also bought a couple of live "Hopper" Mice to feed my Sinaloan Milksnake. I kept them in a Faunarium for a day & noticed they both had "FLEAS!"
The moral of the story is..buy Frozen mice.
I'm selling the Scorp & giving up on anything that eats Crickets! Shame!!

Re: PetShop Woes...
Don't sell your scrop because one shop ruined it for you! I feed roughly 1000 crickets a month so I'd be in trouble! Find a new shop!
I do agree on the frozen mice though.

Re: PetShop Woes...
You might also point out to the shop what you are finding.
They may not be aware of a problem with their supplier.

Re: PetShop Woes...
i keep finding all sorts of things that take the joy out. Don't let it get you down and consider it a challenge! You know, like finding a sugar ant colony living in your 90 gallon viv!

Re: PetShop Woes...
Turns out that the "potting soil" I added from a sealed bag, may be the culprit!! Who can I trust??

Re: PetShop Woes...
Trust you. Next time if you are that worried, bake it for 30 mins at 350 degrees. That should kill any nasties.
