Carolina Pet Supply seems to have an huge variety of different feeders. May try them to see how they are. Think I will veer away from the phoenix until I find out more about them.

Re: Phoenix Worms

Phoenix worms are the maggot of the black soldier fly. They're high in calcium making them a great source for growing babies and females going into egg production, during and post. Also great for Metabolic Bone Disease animals since they're so soft along with their calcium content. Here's a link for nutritional comparison to some of the other popular feeders: Phoenix Worms

Re: Phoenix Worms

I noticed you mentioned chitin and that you wanted to steer away from it. Just so you know, chitin isn't a problem for a healthy reptile. There is a lot of unfounded fear of chitin and its difficulty with digestion. While it is a tough exoskeleton, if the animal is healthy, they can digest it without an issue. All of my Leopard Geckos have a constant supply of mealies and get crickets (which also have chitin) as well as supers (also have chitin) and some of the soft body worms. (Not all at once. lol) Chitin isn't as big a problem as most like to believe.
