Re: Wanting to Use Silkies

crickets, mealworms, super worms, hissing roaches seem to be the most common and easy to breed feeders.

Re: Wanting to Use Silkies

I'm not too far from Bakersfield, and we had silkies when I was in school too... with no problems.

We had them in a soda can box (large open tray) and lots of mulberry leaves. With no problems at all.

If you find a neighbor with mulberry trees, be sure to ask before you take the leaves, and also ask if they use chemicals in their lawn.

The schools use mulberry trees too... ask there as well.

Good luck!!!

Re: Wanting to Use Silkies

roaches are supposed to be really good feeders, they are a little pricey and I think some people are opposed to roaches in their homes and that's why they arent catching on as well.

Re: Wanting to Use Silkies

yeah, i have no problem with them. they seem to be a bit expensive at first but once I get my colony going on I think I should be good. first i'm going to see if my leo and frogs will eat the things. same thing with the silkies I know my bluey will but that's a while off. i'm just sick and tired of crickets and my animals won't eat mealies.
