New Food Idea for Crickets

i work at a health food store that sell all organic produces and I was think would a protein drink mix work as food for crickets??? we have this produce we carry by natures plus... i started looking at them and they seem to have everything a cricket needs and I was think you could just mix small amounts of it to feed the crickets...the only thing that im not sure about is that its ment for humans soo I dont know if it would have a different effect on the crickets... i was also thinking of having a testing group of crickets and see how they do feeding off it... heres some links to the produce

would think the veggie one would work ok. I wouldn't mix it though. See if they eat it dry.

Re: New Food Idea for Crickets

Yeah....I dunno about that. It's a good concept, but crickets drown really easily. If you actually use liquid to water them, it's best you put paper towel or something in it so it's spongy. Also, cricket water stinks bad enough as it is. I imagine a protein shake might stink more if left in a cricket cage all day. You could try it, cause it certainly shouldn't be bad for them. It's just a question of how well it will really work and whether it's really worth it.

Re: New Food Idea for Crickets

if you put it in dry, it should be find leaving it there for an extended period of time. Maybe separate out a dozen crickets or so and see if they eat it, then you can monitor their health. If they croak, you know its a bad idea.
