Snake Sausages
Has anyone ever used these? I'm not sure how interested I would be. At least without some input. I'm also not sure about the ingredients. Anyhow, tell me what you think.

Re: Snake Sausages
the link isn't working for me. it just says page not found. though I think I had heard that most things like that are made from ground up rodents. someone else might be able to help more though.
here's a thread from a few years ago but it mentions snake sausages. maybe it'll help:

Re: Snake Sausages
The link isnt working for me but I remember a while back we had a thread about these...I cant say Id feed them to my snakes or really reccomend them. I dont think it will be easy getting the snake to eat a sausage when all it really wants to do is squeeze the life out of a little mouseyy

Re: Snake Sausages
Here it is
**** Van Patten's Natural Balance® Zoological Formulas: Reptile Diet
And it is for zoos and parks. It is not available for retail sales.

Re: Snake Sausages
Merlin, are you sure? Because I went to their "where to buy" link and it gave me two local stores and phone numbers.
Maybe if I called those stores they wouldn't allow me to buy anything unless I was a zoo, though.

Re: Snake Sausages
They do make foods for "regular" pets.
The Zoological formulas pages states
Quote:
|
Natural Balance® Zoological Formulas™ were developed specifically for carnivores in zoos and wild animal parks, and researched by leading zoo animal nutritionists. These products are not for retail sale, they are for wildlife facilities only

Re: Snake Sausages
Ah. So you can probably only get the ones for dogs and cats, huh? Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Re: Snake Sausages
I'm assuming somewhere you can get snake sausages for your pet. But I'm not too sure I would. The ingredients say beef, and, well beef is far from mouse or rat. It might be of interest to those people who really want a snake but won't get it due to having to feed it a critter (dead or alive, some people can't handle it).
Edit: I sent an email, wanting to know a bit more, since it all wasn't fully clear to me. I'll see if I get a response.
