Re: ???crickets????
You can try Port Credit Pet Center down on Lakeshore I believe they are about $25. But if it's out of your way it wouldn't be worth the drive. They are the ones that put the Expo on. It's about every 3 months, and is getting bigger every year.

Re: ???crickets????
i was also wondering if crickets go dormant????
i am beginning to feed my WDS large crickets now and that chirping is insane at night......and I was wondering if I put them on my balcony if they would either freeze from the cold or fry from the heat and if they do freeze will they return to life after thawing? |

Re: ???crickets????
Actually no they won't. You can put them in the freezer and thaw them out later (slowly thaw). I'm not sure how long you can freeze them for before they don't revive though. It's because they don't have an oxygen fed brain system (from what I've read before)
I used to do this to slow them down before feeding. For those reptiles to slow to catch them.

Re: ???crickets????
Are they flying around? I usually have little bugs. I've heard they put them in to eat the dead crickets. They won't touch the live ones.

Re: ???crickets????
If you get them with every shipment I would find a different supplier. I used a certain petstore one time and it had many different bugs in it. Some of them could be potentially carry bacteria that passes to the crickets.
