Superworms |
| This is what our member has to say: I've got some Superworms growing. They do grow pretty slow.

Superworms
I've got some Superworms growing. They do grow pretty slow.
This is about a 4 wk old

Here is the adult beetle
From what I've found out from feeder breeders(that's catchy) Supers are full-grown in about a year.
That's a Canadian nickel by the way.

I known what you mean I've had super worms for a long time and only one has ever gone to an adult beetle.

99 percent of the time they won't pupate. They need to be kept singly to do so.

Mealworms are a thousand times more easier to breed because they pupea in about a week and a half. I feed my Leopard Geckos super worms and the baby Leopard Geckos mealworms.
If your looking to breed worms go with mealworms.

I've bred mealies before but they are way too small for monitors.

ah yes the meal worms are much to small for the moniters and superworm are the way to go.

Well that answered one of my questions. If I get to the reptile show I was hoping to stock up on bugs. I was not sure how long you could keep them. My sons male Merlin will eat 5 or more superworms at once. That 25 count cup is not cutting it.

I've kept supers for months. Just keep in an area on the cool side. Not in the fridge though.
