You'll soon have lots of mice around. Don't overfeed them. They'll pretty much eat everything you give them.

ok. should I sell the babies. i think I am going to use some for feeders for my snake.

I would find some local smaller pet stores and see if they would be willing to trade your surplus mice for other supplies you need.

ya I should. i only have one local pet store besiedes petsmart and pet-co. would pet co or petsmart take them? i also need them for my snake though. whats the average litter for a mouse.

Usually the larger stores won't be bothered with a small quantity. I usually averaged 6-10 babies. Sometimes you'll get a high producing female and sometimes a low producing one.

Hi I dont think petco or petsmart can take them as they get their stuff through whole salers they have contract with. I would try your local ma and pa shops. As far as the average litter on mice that can be anywhere from a couple when they first start to around 10 is the most I ever had. Beware though mice STINK in mass quantities! It is a lot of work to keep them up!

okay. i might freeze the first couple of litters of mice I get for snake food. since i'm going to breed next year I will have to get some pinks too.

Yeah, freezing surplus is a good idea, but I wouldn't keep pinks in the freezer for a year. You may wish to let them grow a bit larger until they reach a size you can either use or sell, if not to a store then local snake keepers. And whatever you do, DON'T use pine bedding for your mice. Use aspen, pine is toxic. I'd also provide multiple exercise wheels. The mice will love them and it will keep them healthy and fit for breeding.

OK. i have 2. and I just bought 3 mice. 1 black male and 2 white females. i don't know what the babies look like. when do you think they will breed?
