ok. my male is 3 inches long without the tail is that big enough. he seems small compared to the females. so its normal for there to be chasing and fighting at first but they will stop right? if so than I will put the male and females back in the same cage.

Don't mate the females at 4 weeks of age. That is really too young as the females are growing themselves. The litters will be smaller and so will the pups (we've seen this for a long time in our research lab). They are more likely to cannibalize the young as well. 2.5 months is a better age for both sexes. Males don't mature until 6-8 weeks anyways. Females, depending on the strain, do mature by 4-5 weeks. Also, you don't want back to back pregnancies on the females as this likewise puts a big drain on them as they will be both pregnant and lactating at the same time. So take the male out before she has her pups (they typically have a 19 day gestation period with day 0 being the day of mating) as they will go into heat the same day they have their pups.

the females are big. i think they are old enough to have pups.
