Sad day...

The collard greens have been getting pretty sparse in the garden and today we had to buy them for the first time since June. They sure aren't the same as picking them fresh from the garden. Next summer I'll start them earlier. I had many months of return for $1.50 worth of seeds.

I've been out of fresh greens for months. I go through 6 bunches of greens a week @ $2.99/bunch...plus the cost of fresh fruits and other veggies, except for squash, my squash did phenomenal this year, i'll have enough to last me until next summer!

Holy Cow!!!! I can get collards for only 99cents a huge bunch pretty much year round and chicory, mustard greens, dandelion greens are between 69 cents a lb. to 99 cents a lb. So my greens bill is quite a bit smaller than yours Lacey and dont forget I have torts, igs, and a Bearded Dragon that eat them........

Why not grow them in containers, so before it frosts you can bring them in and grow them in the winter. Just dont be growing a bunch of stuff with high powered lights, might get your house searched lol.
