Almost Done Leo Enclosure

I just picked up my camera from being repaired, so I thought I would share some pics of the leo enclosure I am building. I had to make it smaller than I originally planned. It is 22" long, 13" deep, and 24" tall. I still have to finish the outside and order the glass. I am working on a hood today. It has two light fixtures, a powerstrip, a timer, and will have the two rheostats (one for the Under Tank Heater and one for the daylight bulb).

The top level has a cave to hide in.

This is the start of the hood.

Re: Almost Done Leo Enclosure

Started with foam sheets. Hid a 3/8" dowel rod support in it. Shaped it. Covered it with tile adhesive. Then put on paint and poly.

Re: Almost Done Leo Enclosure

That looks neat! You did a nice job. I hope your leo is smarter and more coordinated than mine, though. Mine tend to step right off into space if given half a chance...

Re: Almost Done Leo Enclosure

I would suggest making the bottom layer something soft.
Like Amy said they can be a bit klutzy at times and seem to have a problem realizing just how far "down" is!
