Desert grasses

Anyone have access to a packet of desert grass seed that they can mail to me. I'm looking for something like Buffalo Grass. I can only get it on the internet and costs me a bundle to ship it to Canada.

Re: Desert grasses

I want to incorporate it into my substrate for my monitors. It should provide a sturdy top layer that will allow them to burrow under. We don't have any grass that can withstand 100+ deg temps for very long.

Re: Desert grasses

I found a desert mix (southwest native grasses), but it's almost $100 USD for a 5 pound bag! WOW that's expensive!

LMAO, I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything or it'd be all over my lap. Sound advice for anyone I'd say

Good luck with the search, Mike. It sounds like it'll be a cool habitat if you can ever obtain the grass.

Re: Desert grasses

I've heard you Americans are high on yourselves
Anyway I found a place in Colorado called Western Native Seed. So I'm getting a packet of mix grasses and a mix of grasses and wildflowers.

Re: Desert grasses

lol, it's our sworn patriot duty to make fun of Canadians. You brought it on yourself anyway...by being Canadian I kid, of course

Sweet news on the seeds though How much did it cost you? You'll have to get pictures when the tank's nice and planted!
