Payday! - NSF56k

I call any Friday that's a feeding day for the reptiles, "Payday" ever since the movie, Dave, where Kevin Kline says, "Well, today is Friday, and we all know that (and then everyone chimes in together) Everyone gets paid on Friday".

So payday, feeding day, Friday, it is.

I know there's a lot of algae. I know there's too much sun light. I know there's not enough aeration. I'm working on it. But pardon the mess and enjoy the pictures.

Mmmmmm, lunch.

Get yourself a good pond pump and filter. Clean that right up, of course cleaning the filter itself might prove to be a bit challenging, since you'll have to fetch it.

Re: Payday! - NSF56k

Yeah. Thanks!

I got the pump from the old enclosure and we're trying to reinvent the wheel by figuring some alterations that would make cleaning and refilling a little less "predatory". We'll get there........

Great shots, supper time for you takes a little more concentration than for most.

Re: Payday! - NSF56k

Let me look through our pond stuff and find out what we use. I think its biofalls. The pump I am not sure on the gpm. Our pond isn't as large as yours but it gets dirty from the handfull of koi we have.

In the falls, its a tub, that has 3 or 4 filter pads, then on top of that 3 or 4 bags of lava rock. Which we clean once a month or so. Depending on weather and such. It is a great system and has worked for 5 years with no problems.

Nice pics too.

Re: Payday! - NSF56k

I'll look into that. Thanks.

Another thing I was noticed,in the pictures you can see the difference between a false charge at me (their eyes are open and they don't really come too close or close their mouths - picture 3) and an eating charge and snap, where they close their eyes so as not to get a hoof or a horn or a kick in the eye (pictures 4, 5 and 6).

Re: Payday! - NSF56k

B'gark! Yippers. No additives. No preservatives. No artificial ingredients. No feathers or skin. Just plain chicken.

About 8 pounds of meat a week in the summer and about 8 pounds every other week in the winter. Whatever the cheapest processor, butcher or grocery store meat I can get without additives or preservatives.
