Sorry, Can not see the tail very well but a good soak and or veggie oil sounds good at the moment if it is retained shed. I would not want Keller to be uncomfortable longer than he has to be.
If it is not retained shed (brown & rigid does not sound good) you'll know sooner than later. Just my thoughts ssswoman ![]() |

My ghost corn had that same thing happen to him, lexi. I was trying to help him get it off, then it just broke off
then the best thing oyu can do is just clean it and put neosporin on it.

With this problem plus the reg. and weakness issues from a previous post I would think a vet visit is an absolute must at this point, as well as taking a hard look at the conditions your snake is living in.

I dont think a vet trip is a must at this point..more then likely the end of his tail will fall off when its ready. Just be sure to keep it clean to help prevent infection. you should put a little mark where the dead part meets the live part of his tail to make sure it isnt progressing further up into his body.

Same thing happened here, one day when I was holding and petting him it just came off in my hand. When the shed came off there was no harm done tot he snake. I had tried soaking and that didn't help. I think he went through two sheds like that.
