Mouse size

They say to feed a snake a mouse or rat the size of the snakes girth. Does that apply to corns as well? My little Corn is about the size around as a mouse fuzzy but its head seems SO small compared to that mouse fuzzy. Is it ok to try to feed him that anyhow? Will a snake know NOT to eat something that's too big?

Something as big around as the snake's girth, even for corns. Their jaws unhinge, so don't worry about the prey being bigger than the snake's head. In the wild they'll eat things larger than what you'll feed in captivity, so don't worry too much about that

Yes. Even after watching it all these years it still amazes me at just how large an item a snake can swallow. If its too big to swallow the snake will back off.

Well he just finished off that fuzzy and looks fat! He's just kind of sitting in the same spot like he just ate a Big Mac or something and can't move! LOL

* When I say fuzzy--I mean a mouse that just barely has any hair on it...just a bit fuzzy....is that the correct term for it?
