Do corns need a branch or something to climb on? I didnt think they did so I havnt bothered to get a couple...none of the caresheets ive read say that they need one, or would even use one...it seems they enjoy their hides and burrowing in the aspen lol I was just wondering...  thanks

They will at times use them but are content to either using their hide or burrowing. We have caught them out back both on the top of the chicken coop or on low branches of scrub oaks. Becca's first wild caught cornsnake came from the wire top of the chicken coop.

i have some brances in my corns viv and they are always in them  and hardly ever in there hide sept after they eat.

 so Ill get a climbing branch for each of thier enclosures...and Fran Im glad becca is so into herps! I showed my BF niece the corns today and she flipped out and told me she hated me for keeping snakes lol...shes only 3 though...her dad is the one who planed the ''all snakes are evil'' seed in the poor childs brain...she is terrified of the dragons too..thanks for the replys!

They will use them from time to time but they aren't necessary. I don't have them in any of my corn's enclosures.
In fact if your enclosure top isn't secured they will use them as leverage to try to push it off.

Hehe..well looks like I did something right..I have a sliding lid rather then one that just sits on the top so they arnt going anywhere

We put em in all our corn enclosures,,,,and realized they are now more for our benefit than there's...they never go on them,,but do make the tank look nice.

Lol, I figured if they dont use them shock always has room in his enclosure for a couple more grapevines!
