New pics! Sally
Here are some new pics of Sally, my normal corn...There's a dime in the feeding tank with her for size reference (It was the only coin I could grab quickly):
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So tell me, how can I tell for sure that she's a normal when her coloration isn't what it will be when she matures? I swear she's brighter than Jack, whose supposed to be an Okeetee, but neither one of them is anywhere near grown yet, so I guess that can change...what exactly is the difference between normals and Oketees? Just a wider black border and deeper reds on adult Oketees?

It wasn't more than one and a half times the widest part of her body and she had no trouble eating it...I was told if a feeder was too big, the snake would back off of it, but she showed no signs of wanting to do that...that last picture makes it look bigger because of the angle at which I took it....but if you look at the very first picture and the third one down, that was actually after she ate it, and as you can see the lump isn't that huge at all... Somebody out there please let me know if it's really too big, and I'll move her back down... ![]()

it does look like the camera angle is making it look way bigger. especially in that last pic.
but I don't think i'd give anything bigger then that at this time.

Juliane....Hi hun....it may be partly the camera angle but it still looks to be on the top end of the range. The rule is no more than 1 1/2 times their girth..... personally, I don't go beyond their girth (I really hate dealing with regurging).
Keep in mind....they are all individuals and what one can handle comfortably, may be too much for another. |

Trouble is, if I feed them mice that are only just equal to their girth, there's not much of a noticeable lump, and then I worry that they're not getting enough to eat....*sigh* I'm doomed to worry myself sick either way I guess. Quote:
