May I ask for tail pics??

Or is it too much to ask for or too much hassle and costly?? I have no idea,'cause I don't know how it would work (haven't got my camera yet)!
But I was thinking if I maybe could compare my babies with yours, for those of you who know the sex of your corns? 'Cause now I'm having doubts if my Yuma really is a boy,I'm just not sure. And before I get used to that name,I better make sure.
If I maybe see some tail pics to compare them,I might be able to sex them both soon! They are now about 8 month old.
Thanks!

Tail lengths aren't the best way to go about sexing snakes, the only real sure way is to have the snake probed/popped by someone who knows how to do so, although once you have been sexing snakes for awhile, at times its easy to see what is what just by tail lengths, but it can be false at times too, some people I have spoken to have their own methods for sexing without having them popped/probed, but I still prefer probing them to know for sure.

Yep I'm with Amelia,. tail length isn't the most accurate way to sex a snake. Hatchling corns can be popped, by an experienced person, which involves gently massaging up their tail to "pop" out, or not, the hemipenes. Popping can only be done til a young age, when then probing is the most accurate test of sex. This involves the use of an appropriately sized probe to see how many scales it goes in - more for a male, less for a female, however, it should only be done by someone experienced as you can cause damage if it's done incorrectly. Probing can be done from a few months of age, how old is your corn? It gets easier and more accurate the older the snake is.

By the way, I wouldn't worry too much about the name - plenty of our snakes are confused For instance, with our corns, we have two females called Huey and Haydes

I was told the same thing when I posted pics of Spectre's tail...no way to tell for sure by pics and probing was the only way... But my daughter won't let a probe near her snake Luckily in this case the name can go either way....

BUT we had a cat once whom we were sure was male when we got it, but who turned out to be female...strange to make that mistake with a cat, but I SWEAR she had....never mind ...anyway, HER name was Uther (the distinctly masculine name of King Arthur's father)....and remained so even after we discovered our mistake. It never seemed to bother her at all

LOL Jem, we made the same mistake, only our "female" cat was a male,. unlucky for him he had a very feminine name, (Amy ), which we continued to call him for his long life. No wonder I was a bit confused, and as a child used to think that Amy could be a girl or a boy name, you know, like Charley, or Frances.. hmmm

Jacky, your corns are plenty old enough to be probed. Ask at your pet shop or if you know an experienced breeder. Alternatively a vet may do it for free or for a small charge. We have just bought some probes ourselves, if you lived nearer..
With males it can be harder to sex them, however, this is usually more with boids than colubrids, as they sometimes tense up their lower regions allowing the probe to go in only a couple of scales, giving the mistaken impression that they are female.
