I have an escapee!! |
| This is what our member has to say: Haha I was going to say she missed her mum's "home-cooking" but looks like you have your very own mouse-trap
Once again though, I'm so ... |

Once again though, I'm so glad she's back.. have you any idea how she escaped? - does the tank have a lid on it?.. no matter how heavy the lid is or how secure you think it is, snakes are very very strong and are great escape-artists.. when I had Oscar, my corn, when I was 9-10, he once escaped from his viv, which had a lid top - this lid was solid wood and even had books on top of it to ensure it was too heavy for him to push off. But we were mistaken.. he somehow managed to push it off and get out (by the way, we found him later that day, behind the tv amongst the wires. I think he thought he was with "friends" - we were lucky though, there was a cat flap opposite his tank which he could have gone out of, or the cats could have made a nice play thing with him

Donna thats great! However I am with Rachel here. You need to find out how the little bugger got out so it doesn't happen again. You might try turning out all the room lights and sit and watch and see if the snake goes for the same trick again!

Thanks for the support guys
I found out where she got out, there where two holes either side of the lid, at the back that chris had made to fit the lights, he covered them with wood, but there was like a gap going downwards, I think thats how she got out, although I did stick my finger through and it was really tight, but they are blocked off now.
I am going to have to fix another piece of wood either side to make it more secure, but they are blocked off for now, I keep going down checking but dont think she is in a hurry to go anywhere for a while....

I'm glad you got her back, but I'm surprised you would have a fire in your house, couldn't you find any batteries for the flashlight????? Maybe you thought the heat would attract her???

Its a gas fire jay, came with the house lol, its fixed to the wall with a surround, I have never used it although the pilot light and boiler are behind there in the chimney breast, which heats the water and radiators...
And they are housed downstairs in the room where the fire place is

Any idea of what she ate? Thinking about objects around the house and small enough to be eaten by a small snake, I can only think of plastic things.
