How's Jack doing Juliane?
I really wouldn't beat yourself up over this - we've made exactly the same mistake with our baby collards, when we wanted to put a heat pad in their tank to increase temps, but didn't want it on the floor to avoid burns, so we taped it to the side. All was fine, until we went away for the night, and (something always happens when we go away for the night!!

) when we got back a couple of the babies had got under the tape and were stuck to it. I freaked for a couple of mins while Joe calmly got them unstuck, and they were all fine.
You would know if any scales had come off - there would be a white patch where the scale was and it would be dented in where the scale was missing. If so, apply a little tamodine (i think you guys call it betadine?) and the scale/s will grow back after the next shed.
Everyone makes mistakes, it's all part of the learning process!
Also, I wouldn't worry about the snakes climbing on their thermometers - ours used to do it all the time as babies and if they fell off they didn't hurt themselves, they simply got back up and climbed around it again

Think of your snakes in the wild Juliane - they would be climbing big trees and all sorts to hunt for food,. not every time would they stay up there, everyone takes a tumble now and then.
