Re: New Corn!!

that would be good if you could get some free pinkies out of that. it'll help reduce the costs for now.

its always fun to try and come up with names. lots of times people, myself included will come up with names based on personality of the snake, color, favorite characters to movies, video games, anime, books, etc. sometimes names won't come to you right away. it might take a few days for something to pop into your head then you go "that's it! i have my name!"

also those big plastic critter keepers work just fine for feeding. thats what I use for mine. if you have a lid make sure its secure and if not make sure you keep an eye on him/her.

Re: New Corn!!

ya i've been trying to think of stuff, i always take for ever to come up with names. my 1st snakes was a male snow corn and I named him jasper, i forget where I got the name from. then the other 3 I ended up naming after stones, ruby(female sinaloan milk), saphire(female okeetee), and onix(male cal. king x publean milk). so I was thinking of maybe continuing that and name this one after a stone unless I can find another good name.

Re: New Corn!!

well I went to petco to get some mice and I remember they used to have packages with 10mice for like $5 or something but yesterday all they had these little stupid packages with only 3pinkies in them for almost $6. so my dad went got a mouse an told me its my mouse an when it has babies just go and freeze them lol, so hopefully that works out. still trying to figure out a name though, i've thought of a couple but i'm stil not so sure.

Re: New Corn!!

it would depend on just how tiny your snake is. newborn pinkies are teeny tiny so you might have to let them grow a bit to be a decent size for your snake. you'll probably also want to make sure your mouse or mice are taken care of properly and fed a good food. what nutrition goes into your mice will go into your snake so keep that in mind as well.

in the feeder section I believe there are threads about breeding mice too just incase you want to check into that for future use. mice can be smelly though.

Re: New Corn!!

im not 2 worried bout the mice, my brother like loves them (don't know why, i just see them as food for bigger animals lol) so hes bred them before and he literally takes better care of them then any other mice ive seen, and when hes breed them before the pinkies were huge, they were bigger than the packaged ones so hes aparently doing something right lol, i'll have to ask him he secrets lol. ill look at the feeder threads to hopefully that'll help a little.

Re: New Corn!!

Just make sure he isn't feeding them dog food!
The red dye in some types is toxic to snakes.
