Corn Snake Buzz
Ok I found out something today, I though I would share. I didn’t know that corns could buzz (vibrate) their tails. I have seen our male leopard gecko do this but never any of our corns. I had just feed him in his feeding container left the room for a few minutes and when I came back in I heard this buzz sound. I was looking around the kitchen floor to try to figure it out, and then I realized it was the corn.

Mine do that every time they are fed. Our albino even does it when she doesn't want to come out of the enclosure as a precursor to a strike.

My corns and kings will buzz their tails if I happen to startle them or they don't wnat to be disturbed. Once they realize its me they stop.
Bullsnakes will do the same thing.

Hello,
Rayne, my snow corns, does this as Merlin described. If I startle her, she will vibrate her tail until she realizes it is me. She has also done it when I have placed her in her feeding tub and then lifted the lid to give her the prey. She sometimes gets excited and lets me know with the tail vibrations. lol With Leopard Geckos, this is normally done to signal to another male that yet another male is in the area and it is also used as a courtship technique. |
