pink & white and red & orange
I know nothing about morphs, so can anyone name off some morph names that might fit these descriptions? One snake is pink and white, and the other is orange and red. That's all I know.
I know the pink one could possibly be candy cane, but I don't know any other pink and white morphs myself. The orange one could just be a standard, or it could be an okeetee or something. I have no idea how many morphs out there would fit this description.

Boy talk about an open ended question!
Pink and white= Snow corn, bubble gum corn, candy cane, some blizzards. Orange and red is an amelanistic, but there are a number of morphs that incorporate those colors. An Okeetee has black too!

"Orange and red is an amelanistic" not quite normal amels also have white in them it could however be a sunglow, lava or hypo hard to tell without photos. There are a few other things as well but I cant remeber them right now for good info on morphs check out http://www.serpwidgets.com/Apps/Logo/logo.html you could also try googling corn snake morphs and seing what other good web pages you got.

Actually amelanistic simply means that there is no black. A basic orange and red, with white or without, is an amelanistic. Then the various color combinations and patterns kick in.
There are so many different morphs under the basic term amelanistic it will make your head spin.

I have got a creamsicle who is kind of pink and white lol - although I suppose it depends ont he strength and contrast of the colours!
Orange is usually a pointer of amel but if it bears no black it could be a number of things - I am no much help as the US had many other morph names that we don't have over here ![]() Any chance of pics Matt? |

yes amelestic means no black or to be more specific reduced black but for it to be a true amel it has to have the white as well otherwise it gets called a hypo or lava or sunglow or other such amel type ( no black / reduced black ) morph and as the guy was asking for the exact morph I was trying to point him to the morphs that were most likely and most fitted his discription. The term amel is normally used to refer to the standard form of amel which is red orange and white. and the terms like lava, sunglow, hypo etc are the morph names for the varriations you get within the reduced black no black colletion of morphs.

I was possibly going to be adopting the snakes, but they've been spoken for, so now I don't have to
I'll still inquire as to the morphs they were though, just because I'm curious now!The garter snake they had still needed a home though, so I will be taking that. He's supposedly a male western plains garter (Thamnophis radix haydenii), which I used to breed, and still keep two back home. The description of his coloration sounds a bit off though, so we'll see. Garters are notoriously a pain in the butt to ID. There are too many species and subspecies, and too much variance of color and pattern within same subspecies. He comes with a 20 gallon tank with a locking top and filler dirt. Decor includes a wood log, a ceramic climbing branch, and one of those water dishes that look like a rock. Then he also comes with a Under Tank Heater and basking lamp, an extra bag of fill dirt, and a small carry case of some kind (probably a Kritter Keeper). In addition to all that stuff, I get a 2.5 gallon tank with a lid, gravel, goldfish food, and a catching net....all for free. Whew! Not a bad score I won't be using the spare tanks to keep stocked goldfish, but I'm sure I'll find a use for them eventually It'll be a fun challenge to wean him off the fish and onto mice. He reportedly will only accept fish, and prefers to be hand fed. I'll just have to change that!
