Finally! Yay!

So, here it is, my very own red tail boa! I don't know the gender because they didn't know at the PetCo (regrettably) where I got him/her had no clue. Anyways, I just took a few shots before I put him/her in his/her cage to be settled in, and I will take more when he/she's adjusted.

Is it a columbian? I love your boa its really pretty, i really dislike petco because they don't seem know dib about anything. A good petshop would have told you the sex. He/she is exceptionally pretty congrats

That's a really really beautiful boa! I love the silvery ones. And I like the pepper speckles.
Have you chosen a name yet?
Remember to let her settle for at least two weeks before trying to feed: try to resist looking in on her too much except to change the water. If you want her to "get used to you", you can wear a T-shirt for a couple of days or go jogging in it, so it has your "smell" on it, then put it in the tank with her.

If they don't know what they're doing, it's better they don't try to sex the animals they sell. Sexing young snakes is risky if you don't know what you're doing. "Popping" can cause spinal damage and probing incorrectly can cause perforations. I'm no fan of pet shops in general, but at least they didn't lie about the sex.
If you're not planning to breed, the sex doesn't really matter. The animal is quite young and already stressed out. If it were mine, I'd wait a few months to a year and then have it probed by a qualified vet or someone who has done it before.
