A question about shedding...
Libi is having the WORST shed ever!! All during her shed her humidity has been up to abou 70%, and she still has some stuck on her, alot stuck on her actually. SO last night I put her in a pillowcase with a wet towel and that got some of it off. My question is how long can I keep her in the pillowcase? And I really dont want to use liver oil or veggie oil on her..but if I have to then I will, and if anyone has any other ways of dealing with stuck sheds please tell!

yeah get a wash cloth and wet it with warm water,Thenlet her slither through your hands that should work. For the pillow case I would say a few hours in there making sure its warm in the pillow case so she doesn't get to cold leaving it in the warm end should help.

Savannah, what type of substrate are you using ? I ask this cus I had never any problems with my Boa shedding until I switched to aspen, then I had just what you did. I switched back to newspaper and had no problems (my corns do fine on the aspen though)

Leave her in the pillowcase overnight with a large towel that is dripping wet. If the old skin is still there in the morning it should have gotten moist enough overnight to roll off.
I keep my boa on aspen and have never had a problem shed.

Her first shed was perfect...she did have mites not too long ago, I think that may have had something to do with it...Merlin- I have her on a dripping wet towel in a pillowcase right now..she was also on it last night
hopefully this will do it! |
