Difference in Feeding Mice or Rats to My Boa?

Whats the difference if I feed my snake rats instead of mice?

They are suppose to be better, more meat & more calcium in their bones. Obviously rats are bigger. I'd never feed a live rat though, they can do some major damage.

I definitely wouldn't feed anything live to my snakes ! But do they make the snakes grow faster feeding rats?

Rats are supposedly more nutritious than mice. Also, you will need rats for a boa anyway after it gets more than four feet as mice simply won't cut it to keep a growing boa properly fed. Sooner you can get your boa to switch the better.

Rat pups are the size of adult mites. Rat weanlings are about the size of jumbo mice.

So how many months do you think my boa and python will be on rat pups until they can then take rat weanlings?

It depends on how fast they grow.
