I absolutely agree! It's an important general rule! No one should ever give an animal to someone who hasn't plainly indicated that they want it (or in the case of a child, whose parents haven't plainly indicated that it's ok with them)

Hehe, my kids and I definitely do not come under the general rule  ...I let my husband know on a fairly regular basis that it would be a Really Wonderful Thing for him to give a snake as a gift to either me or the kids...there can be no mistake about that!  ...who knows, maybe one day he'll surprise us (and himself ) and actually be inspired to do just that!

LOL, I could not agree more. I got 2 corns snakes for my anniversary. Ken he/she is beautiful, tell KJ congrats on the new addition.

My hubby has been converted...took me years but it worked!
He will take a snake right out of my hands now, all on his own accord.
He won't go near the rat room though. I don't think I'll ever cure him of THAT phobia! lol
