Bullseye!

Hello everyone, for those of you who followed Dana's thread Nasty RTB We want you to know that Bullseye has a new home. He came to live with us today and we have high hopes for helping him to get over whatever it is that is making him strike. I took him out of the package and held him for about 10 minutes with no difficulties (I didn't give him a whole lot of freedom though). I'll be posting regular updates on him as we go along. Thanks to Dana for letting me adopt him!!!

Bullseye

I would like to thank Jay for adopting BullsEye I know that "he" will be taken care and spoiled rotten! Thank You Jay
It was the second time I held him is when he earned his name; so be careful!! LOL
Maybe it was me being a woman that he didn't trust because that's what his last owner was! A college student.
All the same I'm glad he's safe!
We were worried about his travels but he's finally safe with Jay in every way!
Thanks again Jay!

Good luck with him Jay, what a sweetie

Our female common came to us about a year ago, and used to be quite hissy and bad tempered. She is a beautiful snake and now has a lovely temperament - we think her temper perhaps had something to do with the way she was kept, as towards the end of her stay with her previous owners they just didn't feed her, we suspect.. she came from the same home as Rocky, enough said!

The striking may also come from nervousness - if the owner isn't confident the snake can sense this and will become nervous in return.

Good luck, i hope you do well with him/her.

Update!

Bullseye was held by me for 30 minutes today, then put in the feeding tub where he took 2 f/t large mice. I reached in and picked him up carefully and returned him to his enclosure for a nap. He did not attempt a strike, and didn't even bother to constrict the second mouse. I hope this is progress already!

Awesome

I'm jealous!!!!
Was I doing something wrong?
I'm glad there's that much progress. I know he's happier with you than he was with me.
Glad all is going well with him.
but I'm still jealous! LOL

Dana, I don't think you were doing anything wrong. I just have a way with snakes with attitudes. Even when I remove wild ones for people, I haven't been bit (yet). lol

Plus you said it yourself, he might not like women after his first owner.
