Feeding Woes

Can anyone recommend how to get my babies to start eating?
I've tried to feed them, and they were not interested in f/t fuzzies at all.
I'm pretty sure that I am going to have to start them out on live fuzzies in order to get a feeding response.
Do they need to eat live at first??

Also, has anyone had a snake that prefers pre-killed rats over f/t? My Colombian/Hog Island refuses to eat f/t rats, but when I offered him a pre-killed rat, he took it with no issues. I know that he doesn't care if the rat is white, as the pre-killed one was white. We thought that he would only eat a rat if it was dry. So we made sure that this last feeding, his f/t rat was completely dry, but it made no difference. He will eat f/t mice easily, but not the rats. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to eat the f/t, or is pre-killed how I will have to go?

Re: Feeding Woes

I would think eventually f/t would be accepted. It might take some time and they might have to be hungry enough. All of my boas never had issues with f/t so maybe someone else can share a better idea. How old are the babies your feeding, most importantly did they have a 1st shed ?

Re: Feeding Woes

So, the two that hadn't eaten, didn't eat. I don't know why. Should I wait a week to try to feed them again, or should I try to feed them on Sunday when everyone else eats? I don't want to stress them out, but they are so little, I want them to start eating as soon as possible.

Also, Kah took the pre-killed rat. Picky little bugger lol. Oh well, we don't mind buying pre killed as long as he'll eat them.
