Bedding for the Boa
OK. Since I haven't been obsessive enough, I am wondering about bedding. Roxy currently has just the indoor/outdoor carpeting on half her tank. But I am wondering if I should replace, add, or just only have newspaper or woodchips. I have been looking at other pictures and I see that those are all options. Any opinions? Thank you.

Re: Bedding for the Boa
mshrnhead: Do you just throw it in there or is there a method. I know she'll readjust anything I do. I'm not worried about asthetics, I want the best for her. I can regulate urine and defication pretty well with the set-up now. And it is super-easy cleanup. But I don't know if I am giving her enough "hide-away options". If I try the paper towels, how much layering should I apply?
Ollie: I got Roxy from a coworker. She was with the one owner for 6 years. I got the tank, water bowl, hide-a-way, and heat lamp with her. The girl had to move and Roxy needed a home so Monique placed an ad notice in the lunchroom. I've worked with Monique for several years and have no doubts on what she tells me. She's a good kid. That was a large part of my decision. |

Re: Bedding for the Boa
I would go with either newspaper or aspen.
I have newspaper with aspen on top of it. Come time to change it out and I just roll the newspaper up with the aspen inside of it. Of course Maggie has discovered the edge of the paper and thinks its a great place to play hide and seek!

Re: Bedding for the Boa
Aspen is readily available everywhere. Its stock bedding for about everything!
Just be sure it's specifically labeled aspen

Re: Bedding for the Boa
how well does the apen hold humidity?
with my pregnant boa, the humiditiy is a crucial factor to the health of the babies. we are currenty using T-Rex Cyprus bedding is that alright? we are using repti bark with the smaller boa, but are about to change as it doeant hold humidity almost at all with our corn, we use the aspen. her colors look so beautiful against it. i want to use newpaper with Jasmie, seeing as it would be easier to clean up with the birth and all, but my boyfriend is insistant upon using the cypress thats in there, bc it's "brand new". unfortunatally i cant cant change the bedding myself, bc im too short to really do anything in her tank lol, or i would. but anyways, is the cypress good to use?
