Heated Dog Bowl from Farm Supply Store.

Anybody used one of these. I don't know what temp the water would get up to in a warm cage but it has a heated bottom, its plastic and big enough for probably a 4-5 foot snake. It was 20 bucks but I did not buy it as my snake is only 26 inches right now.

Just wondering if anybody else has used this and their results? If it kept the water at 80 then that would be cool. Maybe use a rheostat...???

I've never used one. I don't see why you couldn't use something like that, though. You just need to be really careful about monitoring how hot the water is actually getting. And you might want to check up on if they malfunction often and what happens when they do.

Ive never heard of that but sounds like a good idea as long as the water dosent get to hot as well as the other temperatures in the cage.

heated water will also keep your humidity high, so I would keep an eye on that too. My guess is its just heated enough to keep a dogs bowl from freezing outside in the winter.

I doubt they get hot, just warm enough to prevent freezing.

I'd feel safer putting a Under Tank Heater under a water dish just because you know what to expect with a Under Tank Heater.

Re: Heated Dog Bowl from Farm Supply Store.

I have one outside for my dogs in the winter for when they play. It doesn't get above 45 degrees or so. Just enough to keep the water from freezing solid. I wouldn't trust them for a snake, no way no how!

PS. If you paid 20 bucks for it, then that's a pretty cheap one too.... don't trust it.
