It's Finally Finished!
As many of you will remember I had been discussing heating for an enclosure I was building for Maggie, one of my boa constrictors. And it is finally done and her highness is moved into her new home! The footprint is 2ft by 4ft and 18 inches tall. It is heated by a single 150 watt Ceramic Heat Emitter which as you can see is caged so the snake cannot come in contact with it. Here is the cage and Maggie checking out her new abode!

Very awesome Merlin. Did you get the plans from herpers toolbox? IT seems alot like his thats why I asked. I used the same plans, but mine didnt come out any thingl ike that lol.

Thanks guys! Since I am by no means a carpenter I am pretty proud of the way it came out!
And Yes Nate that is exactly where the idea came from. Did have to make a few changes due to differences in the thicknesses of the plywood. And the flexwatt proved totally inadequate to heat the cage by itself. Maybe if the room itself was up in the 80's it would work. The room is a bit on the cool side, getting down in the mid to upper 60's at night and the single heat emitter has no trouble keeping a 80/90 degree gradient. Now Kathy wants me to make another one for the ball pythons. The side opening door makes things much easier on a little short woman!
