What should I expect in the next year??

Ok, our common baby girl is now about 17 months old. Close to 4’ long and about the diameter of a half dollar (she is starting to muscle up). Since I really don’t know how fast these guys grow. What should I expect in the next year or so. In the spring I will have to upgrade her cage any suggestions would be appreciated. Would you recommend wood frame or aquarium? This way I can plan ahead and save money.

Thanks from our little monster. LOL

If you have the time and the means, building your own is the way to go. You save a ton of cash AND get what you want. I did mine for around $250. If I had bought one of equal size it would have cost me about $2000! Plus you can design it to fit anywhere. Good luck!

I agree. It will be far cheaper to build your own cage then to try to buy a similarly sized aquarium. And I would build for the adult size as oppposed to any intermediate stage.

And if your not crafty or like me just lazy. Check around for people who make wood cages and sell them. All you'll have to do is screw it together and you'll and they usally cost the same as you would spend on wood yourself. My last 150 X 60 X 60 Cm cost me 129 euro, a glass this size if found would have ran me upwards of 500.

Ok would a 6' long x 2' wide by 2' tall enclosure work? I'm going to check with the local guy who makes furniture and see what he would charge for make some enclosures for me. I've been looking around the net and couldn't believe the prices. Thanks.

You could do a 2' wide x 2' tall x 4' long.
