Snake Help Please!

The new snake is blowing bubbles out of your mouth. It white and frothy. I had her about a 1' down from her head and I could feel her buzzing or vibrating. She is allowing you to whip her mouth without a problem, no snapping or hissing. What could be wrong with her?

Colleen,

That does NOT sound good! I'd have to agree with Kenman!

Yea I would have to agree it does't sound good. What kind of snake? It sounds like a URI, they buzzing and the frothy white stuff out of the mouth is a sign usually of them having a hard time breathing. Does she look like it's hard for her to breathe? And when she breathes and you can see how it moves up and down is it a slow deep pace or rapid gasp? Sorry, to here she's not feeling well.

Bump up her temps and get her to a vet ASAP. Sounds like a URI for sure.

That is what I thought. She is showing no problems with breathing, no visible difficulty. You can't see her breath. When we got tank and all, when I sent up the tank I could only get it up to 70 degrees, we have now moved her to a bigger tank, with Under Tank Heater and two over head lights. I'm now keeping the temps at mid 80's and a basking spot in the 90's. I'll bump up the temps and see if I can make a vet apt. unfortunately the closest vet is over an hour away.

We'll we got an apt for her tonight. This should be a fun experience, never took a snake to the vet, let alone a big girl like she is.

Definitly let them know it is an emergency. We charge outrageous prices for after hours emerencies but if it is indeed that bad, then it's worth every penny. Could you have any temperature or humidity problems? maybe some chemicals that you used for house cleaning too close to the enclosure?

Ok just got back from the vet. She does have an URI and he said she had it for a long time (like since before we got her) the stress of moving her just made the symptoms worse. She also had red spots on her belly which told him that she had a bad infection. She will be getting shots for the next 42 day every other day. The nice thing is he only charged $60 including the meds.
