I'm going to have to start coming to your vet! all of the vets in eastern washington (none of which know a ball from a corn) charge an arm and a leg just for the office call. its made me get VERY good at inhome treatments.

That was one of my fears not knowing how much the vet was going to cost. I figured Ok I just paid off the credit card. LOL I was happy with him also, he made sure that we were doing everything right in her setup and wanted to make sure we knew what we were getting into with a snake this size. He was also please that I was changing her over from live to FT as he told a few of his horror stories. So I think the vet is a keeper and is has late hours 3 nights a week until 9 pm.

Good luck with the treatment of your boa. Make sure you follow the antibiotic treatment to the letter and don't stop too soon. It sounds like this infection has been raging for quite a while, so it may take some time to get rid of. Keep the temps up and the stress levels down as much as possible.

I'll keep my fingers crossed! Don't let the fact that she "seems mellow -- no hissing" fool you! From my recent experience that can be a VERY VERY bad sign! (The snake feels too miserable to put up any reaction at all.)
All the best!

Well, it's good that you know what she has and she is getting treated! Good luck with everything and I hope she ends up being alright!
