Re: Moving Advice

*UPDATE*

Good news:
We found a place that we love. Full size withD, dishwasher, balcony, walk in closets, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, security cameras, security on site, covered parking, NO pet deposit. Between $585-$650/month, which is totally in our price range....

Bad News: The manager doesn't forsee any openings for a while. Phil and I are going wait.

Hopefully it gives us a chance to stock pile our junk...but I was hoping to move SOON.

Re: Moving Advice

we don't even have a single family home, its a townhouse. If you want a single family home up in my area and you don't want a piece of crap, its a good $400k. Anything with any land will run you much more. The closer to the city and the nicer the neighborhood will run you up to 1.5 mil. Its so stupid.

Re: Moving Advice

Yeah, it SUCKS. But, its what you have to do here if you don't want to live in a bad area or live in a house that is falling apart. Trust me, I don't live in a mansion. we have 3 very small bedrooms, one very small full bath, living room, kitchen and dining room, unfinished basement.

My hubby and I scraped and scraped for this place. The final price was $230k, we had 20% down. We got a good interest rate too, probably the lowest in history.

The good thing is the housing market here isn't slumping like other places. So if we move to a cheaper area we will have LOTS to put down. We've been in this house 4 years now.

Ours is the end unit with the tree down in front.

Re: Moving Advice

Yeah, welcome to Baltimore. And I live a pretty good distance from the city. The area we wanted to move to, a town home of the same size/quality was $300k +

Re: Moving Advice

Around here its $730 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment! You definitely have it good.

I'm glad you found a place, Lacey.

Liz, you're not on an adjustable mortgage rate, are you? Because you might want to be careful if you are. We've had a rash of foreclosures in this area simply because of that.
