I was in the paint shop today talking with the guy about texturglas wall coverings when we heard a crash out on state street. We walk out to see the 20 second old remains of a hit and run between a Chevy SUV and a small red car. No clue what the red car was because by that time they had taken off, well had almost left.

The small red car left behind their bumper, probably the back bumper, complete with license plate.

As I left the store some guy was being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher while wearing a neck-brace.

How stupid can you be to do a hit and run accident with injuries and know your car is damaged enough to leave the bumper behind??

They probably don't have insurance or something, but that was pretty stupid.

It's funny that we all have stupid people with license plates stories.

Mine took place when I used to work for a newspaper. A couple got stopped by a cop in our parking lot because their car only had one license plate (in VA you need 2). And, well, you know how nosy newspaper people can be. For two hours we watched these people argue with the cop about their car and their baby (who had no car seat and definitely needed one). In the end, the policemen had to call for backup, and they removed the lone license plate from the car and ticketed the couple, after a lot of angry shouting and an almost arrest. Then the police left and the couple with their baby went to a diner next door. Not ten minutes later, the couple was back. They opened their trunk, pulled out another license plate, attached it to their car in full view of us, and drove off. Needless to say, they didn't get too far.

i wonder if they didn't realize their bumper was left behind. Either way, they are in much more trouble than they were had they stayed!!!

Those are the people that shoul wear signs stating how stupid they are. It would save us all a heck of a lot of time dealing with them.
