Re: what do you collect?

I collect books. Anything I can get my hands on, in general. Specifically, though, I collect very old fairy tale books. Most of the ones I have are from the mid to late 1800s, but I do have one in German (that I can't read!) from 1806. It's handwritten and beautiful. I also collect history and medical journals from before 1900. All of these are actually a wonderful source of information about how people thought and who they aspired to be as a society.

Along with my old books, I collect old photos - mostly cabinet cards and memorial cards, but anything interesting, really.

Art supplies, of course. You can never have too many of them.

I used to collect candles, too. But now I have a couple of hundred of them sitting around waiting to be melted into fun shapes, but no time. I still collect really interesting candles, but I don't go for just anything anymore.

Re: what do you collect?

Mike: Yeah right! My dad started collecting baseball cards for his 'first son' many MANY years before I was born. Unfortunately he got 2 girls so I had to suffice. I got a big box of baseball cards, some fishing/hunting gear and a ton of other things that made me into the tomboy that I am.

Marsha: I still have my Pokey Little Puppy books! So awesome.

Ooh I also have a ton of stuffed "Pound Puppies" (The original ones, that are way cooler than their attempt to revive them in the late 90's)

Re: what do you collect?

I collect hippo's. It got started a few years ago... I bought one that I thought was funny because its name was Henrietta, which happens to be my mother's name. Plus Henrietta Hippo was on the New Zoo Revue for those of you who were kids in the early to mid 70's you may remember that show. Now everyone is giving me hippos.

I also collect scrapbooking supplies. I love to scrapbook but seem to have less and less time to do that but always find time to buy more supplies!!

Re: what do you collect?

I collect vintage snack sets. They're wonderful plates with a cup-well and matching cup. They were very popular in the 40's-70's. I've noticed modern versions here and there. They take up WAY too much room, and are all in boxes since I'm in a small rental unit.
