Re: The Internets Longest Thread
No sooner did I type that yesterday.. we had a huge wind stowm come in and knock out the power, thank god it was only out for a few hours,, but they aretalking about some more wind storms coming in next week.
I feel your pain Lacey, up until I moved out here a few months ago, I always lived in county, we were that last to always get the power back on. If you live in the sticks you are basically left to fend for yourself, lol. we did not have a wood stove at my last house,, thats why we bought the generators.
Last year we went days without power. I felt sorry for the people who did not have the generator. In al reality the generators were bought for the reptiles, lol. As far as house damage this year it should not be so bad,,, we are not surrounded by trees like we were all these other years.
I hate having to deal with insurance companies over that kind of stuff. It took them forever to pay the claim for the shop,, and it was in the thousands,, but I got lucky compared to those who lost their homes last year, I saw so many house with huge trees right in the midle of them,, it was awful for those poor people. It was also horrible for the people who had to seek shelter at the red cross and such because they had no power or generator and it was snowing and cold and their kids were freezing.
I think every house up here should have to come equipped with a wood stove.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
The Northeast is supposed to get all of the bad storms today that have been moving across the country. We are expected to get high winds and torrential downpours! Katie is supposed to play with the band at the football game tonight. It is Homecoming weekend too. It is a shame that it will be raining.
It is also really warm here in Pennsylvania today. This morning it was 72 degrees at 7 am. THat is 25 degree above normal!! I can't wait for it to get cooler!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Same here Kelly. I actually turned the AC on last night. It was so hot and humid. I moved the flukers hydrometer upstairs and it was 82 with 85% humidity! I should have moved the frogs up there, they would have been happy!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
My husband turned the AC on this morning! It hasn't started raining here yet. I am leaving work at 3 to go to therapy I am sure that is when the rains will start. Our employee parking lot is so far from the building it is ridiculous.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Heck it was 46 degrees here this morning!
I am getting ready to leave out this evening to go on a camping trip with a bunch of friends. I camp out most of the summer relative to my business but this one is just for FUN!
I'm not sure I remember how to act!
Got the drums, flutes and didgeridoo packed and ready to roll as soon as my lady gets home! Music and dancing around the bonfire!
So I will be MIA for the weekend!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
It's been raining on and off all day here, but it's still really warm outside. I had fans on all over the house yesterday, and it looks like I'll be doing the same today.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
So yesterday I treated myself and had a spa day,,, should I say that my hubby boughtme a weekend spa package
It consists of getting my hair done, nails, feet, facial, massage, and a chemical peel. and some waxing. So I had all kinds of things waxed yesterday, all I can say is YEOUOOOCCCHHHHH!!! Next time I think I will have to pass on that, lol. It took the poor hair dresser 4 hours to wrap my hair ( I had a spiral perm in it) My head is so sore. I am however thankful that I have real long hair or I would look like a poodle, I dont think I will do that again for a long time, lol. Today I go back in for the pedicure, massage and such. It is so realxing,, I feel like a brand new person. Now only if I could figure out how to type again with these daggers on my fingers, lol. It has been over 8 months since I had really long nails ( i took them off when I got the last big crew in).
I can say that all you ladies who are feeling blah and such with winter on the way, go have a spa day and let someone pamper you for a change, it definately helps you feel better!
Oh,, I think I will have my toenails painted red to drive Oscar crazy
He makes me crazy,,,so a little revenge is in order

As the saying goes, "turn around is fair play." Oscar may exact a painful revenge by biting one of those tasty "strawberries" on the ends of your toes! Better watch him close!
