Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I can tell you from experience....21 yr old daughter (carrying my first grandchild), 19 yr old daughter (in college), and 15 yr old daughter (this one is gonna kill me LOL), that the moods never end LOL...The 21 yr old is just as cranky as she was at 13, the 19 yr old is my wonder girl....no complaints about her, and the 15 yr old has finally decided to do better in school....sigh...
not to mention my 4 boys 17 yr old (another one to drive me nuts) and the younger ones 11, 9 , and 6....Thank GOD that the last 3 are boys...I couldnt imagine myself in my 50s still raising teenage girls LOL....
The storm will pass....you will overcome...and best wishes ...

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I went to my reptile shop, you know that shop where the owner takes care of their critters. I finally get what you see in Leopard Geckos. They never had them before. The ones I always saw at petsmart were just kind of blah looking. Let me tell you, this leo had the most beautiful coloring. Almost looked fake it's colors were so bright.
They also had a pair of red eyed tree frogs. Did I mention I have an empty vivarium? $50 each... a bit pricey but again beautiful colors... my husband had to drag me out.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
merlin,,, I think we parent a lot alike. my kids know better to tell me they are bored, lol. I can always use under the sink washed, or the base boards cleaned, floor mopped, etc. I look forward to the day they tell me they are bored, lol.
Kelly, I can tell you just stick to your guns and you will overcome,,,, she is testing you to see what she can get away with. My son went throughj what I call H!@@ year when he was 12. He was grounded 10 months out of that year. I was always persistant and stuck to my guns and finally one day he realized that life was no fun since I took ALL his stuff and put it in storage. He had nothing but a bed, his blankets, etc, his dresser, and naturally all his books If you knew my kids you would know that they are materialistically spoiled rotten, so it was a huge traumatic thing for him. But being spoiled by stuff,, they are NOT rude, disrespectful or none of that nonsense as I will NOT put up with it and they all know it. Long story short he holds a 3.9 gpa at the moment. Last year he graduated 8th grade the only 4.0 He is also on the football team and the wrestling team, so he has no time to get into trouble It will get better,,, just hang in there and stick to your guns.
Now,,, If I only could get all the giggly girls to stop calling I WOULD BE SO MUCH HAPPIER! lol

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I'm looking and bidding on some digital SLR's on Ebay. I think I can finally afford one. Does anyone have the Canon Rebel 6.3 mp. I think Lacey does if I remember correctly. Even the 8 mp is going for around $450. Very good deals. I want the Canon EOS since my lenses will be compatible.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
we have the 6.3mp rebel as a work camera. Takes beautiful photos. I would suggest getting something with slightly higher MP if you plan on doing any large prints. I'm trying to get the office to invest in the 10mp since we do lots of printing press work and most of the time the 6.3 doesn't cut it. But for general purposes, its great!

OMG I am not looking forward to the boyfriend years! Now that she is in the marching band and there are lots of boys she is doing more talking about them. But she is definately too young to start dating. Although there is a really sweet 14 year old trumbone player that I would love to fix her up with! I wish I was 14 again! No not really!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Mike: I've got the Rebel XT (350d) and it is a wonderful camera. 8.1mp. You could probably find just the body for under $400. Make sure you ask the shutter count though, I know that I couldn't sell mine with a good conscience because my count is so high. I'm at at least 75k shots.
Also remember that is a 1.6x crop body so if your lenses are EF there will be a bit of magnification compared to a 35mm film camera. The EF lenses are all I shoot though, although I may go for the ef-s 10-22mm soon.
This may be educational as far as 400d vs. 350d....I threw the 40d in there because it is what I am currently drooling all over.

Remeber it's not just the body, good glass makes all the difference!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Hi Mike,
I can't offer much here, except that I purchased a camera on eBay back in May. I used: eBay My World - willoughbyscamera
I purchased a Canon Digital Rebel BOS XTi that came with the body, one lens, carry case, and all sorts of extras (extra charger, 3 filters, mini tri-pod, lens cleaning kits, etc) for Ken's birthday. He's had no complaints.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Lacy, i have been wearing contacts for years. Get the tips of your fingers nice and dry. They will stick to the contacts better. Your eyes should be wet, your fingers dry. The only time I have problems taking them out, is when I fell asleep on the couch with them in and they are dry and stuck to my eyeball.
