Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I can't wait for it. We just saw the latest movie last night, and even though it differed from the book/left a lot out, it was still a great movie. I have learned to separate the movies from the books as two separate entities.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I will see the newest movie soon and am awaiting the final book. My daughter insisted I read the series and once into it, I couldnt put it down....I read the whole book series in less that 2 months....and now I wait for the final chapter! THe movies are slightly different from the book, but I love watching how close they really are....Enjoy!

Don't worry. You're not alone. And I'm a total Fantasy/Sci-Fi geek. I just don't like that series, or the hype that surrounds it. *shrugs*
There's a couple of series I've been reading that I do wish they would make movies out of, though, but only if they do a good job of it. Otherwise, I'm happy in my little library world.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I too am a big fan of magic/fantasy work.
I, personally, find the Harry Potter series OK, but a bit juvenile for my taste.
However my wife absolutely adores them.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I want them to turn some of the Janet Evanovich series with Stephanie Plum into a movie. I think they could be hilarious on the big screen.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Dont worry Lacey, I am with you, I tortured myself through one of the movies and I hated it! The other ones my kids play 24/7 around here ughhh.
I have never sat down and watched them though, I catch parts here and there. It ranks right up there with the teenage mutant ninja turtles, and BARNEY with me! YUCK!!!! lol

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Yay! I thought I was going to be drawn and quartered....
I rarely like a movie more than I liked a book...
I was very dissappointed by "Running with Scissors" by Augusten Burrows. The book was hilarious, the movie was more of a drama. Bleh.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I finally talked my husband into planting a small garden this year. It is very small -- 3 tomato plants, pepper plant and some herbs. We have tons of green tomatoes and finally Friday I noticed that we had one almost ripe tomato. Saturday evening my husband came in the house cursing up a storm. I am like what the heck is your problem. He has the tomato in his hand and shows me that a squirrel has eaten about 1/3 of it!!! I had noticed that the squirrels were eating the cherry tomatoes, but this had crossed the line. Now he is on a mission to rid our yard of squirrels. Personally I think he is fighting a losing battle. We checked the internet for different ways to deter squirrels - fox pee, moth balls, rags soaked in vinegar, killing them, and trapping them were all suggestions. So we set up two have a heart traps. This morning there was one squirrel in one of the traps! Hubby will be thrilled when he gets home from work. One down and hundreds to go!!!
