All the more reason to get one

On another note I am in the middle of fighting with Oscar for foot room under the computer, I give up he has bruised my toes, lol. I have to get him a new ball because he beat the other one to death!

I spent half the night in the 24 hour vet with Wing last night as he has ANOTHER respitory infection I cannot figure out why he gets these, his temps and enclosure are all proper. He managed to bite me and the doc half to death. I swear he is ranking up there on the same list as Cleopatra and is soon on his way to a fabulous belt, lol. Okay kidding. But the frustration with him, GRRRRRR.......

On another note this is a pic of my hubby right after he says Get her off of me she is hissing

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Ugh. Ever since Sunday, when the new "Civil Remedial Fees" were added to the fines for traffic violations, I've seen cops absolutely everywhere.

It makes me feel like I'm trapped in a mine field trying to pick my way through without getting blown to bits. I'm tense all the time when I'm driving, now, even when my cruise control is set to the exact speed limit.

I hate the idea that one little mistake can now cost me $1-3,000 plus hundreds of dollars annually for seven to eleven years. Everyone that I know is really upset about this new law. But what can you do about it, really?

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

you should find the piece of paper the law is written on, and blow it up. that will solve everything

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

I saw about that new law and it totally sucks for Virginians. Fortunatly for me, out of staters can't get fined! :

Nicole, if I'm ever in Washington, i NEED to meet Oscar.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

No kidding. You have no idea how many people have told me they are going to go to West VA or Maryland and register their cars there so they can't be fined. I think that's illegal, though, so I can't do it, but I can't say I really blame anybody for going that route.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Wow, I never heard of that law! I was in Virginia two weeks ago too. Plus my hubby was driving and he drives below the speed limit ALWAYS. He drives a truck for a living and is always afraid of getting any kind of violation because it will affect his commercial drivers license. Luckly I was a vacationer and not a resident of the state. In PA they added some crazy fees to basic traffic tickets a few years ago. A simple traffic vioulation which would have been like $30 or $40 is up over a $100 because of some kind fee that the state added!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

The extra fees and taxes don't apply to non-residents, so that's nice for visitors. Unfortunately, VA driving fines were already among the highest in the US. Guess they'd definitely have to be classified as the highest now.

It's so completely unfair that something like this can be snuck into a law by some greedy politician. Politics are incredibly corrupt.

Bad information highway

Sometimes the internet can be a very bad highway of false information. I was just reading a thread at another forum (yes it's the infamous one for incorrect info) Someone was asking on minimum cage requirements for adult Sav monitors. Some answers were correct saying 7 or 8 ft. But one guy probably an eight yr old says-" no way 8 ft is huge it should only be 4 ft". Holy snikees I had to refute that. It makes no sense at all. A cage as long as the reptile is long. HELLO. I told them to please don't give advice on something you know nothing about. It KILLS reptiles.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

yeah, thats terrible. I spend alot of time correcting people on old ideas that some how are ingrained into their heads.

pretty much everything people learned about iguanas before the mid 90's is wrong..it makes it hard to rehome them when he people say, "we don need to read no darn website, we got a pamphlet from our petsore and they say lettuce is fine"

*sigh*
