 As far as sleeping bags go i'd rather been too warm than too cold. I hate waking up in the morning and not being able to get up because i'd rather curl in the fetal postition in the bottom of my sleeping bag. Right now i'm using a sleeping bag that is rated to 20 degrees, but its got horrible drafts through the zippers and the stitching coupled with one fleece sleeping bag, a fleece throw and a flannel blanket. It's a horrible mess to get into in the dark when you are freezing! Merlin: We tried the whole "zip the two rogether" thing, infortunately one of us is a blanket hog and the other of us has to sleep spread out like a flying squirrel ... Needless to say we decided to keep the bags separate...

LMAO! I understand the blanket hog routine! Luckily with the two zipped together SHE can't pull it off me! And since we are generally cuddled up next to each other space is not a problem.
My bags are the larger size and very air tight. They are even large enough that we had a lady friend of ours who is a pretty good sized girl in the bags with us when the bag she had brought turned out to be VERY inadequate for the conditions. Amatuers!

LOL! Now LYN! It was a purely platonic arrangement. The girl is a dear friend who is not an experenced camper. The event took place in late October and she showed up with a sleeping bag that would have been more appropriate for a slumber party in someone's living room than actually camping out even in the summer! That evening the wind came around out of the north and the temperature dropped 30 degrees in about 15 minutes!
Being a gentleman (and yes there are a few of us left around!) I could not allow her to freeze!
