Re: The Internets Longest Thread

It's been done...Coleman tents are guaranteed to not leak, but this one is the exception to the rule. It just gives me an excuse to buy a tent I really want...once I figure out how to justify the purchase of a 4-season tent to myself when I only camp 3 seasons of the year...

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Merlin! You can feel my pain!

We bought the Sundome like 2 months ago and it got it's first rainstorm two weeks ago...we would have been more dry if we'd have been standing in the creek. (It's a lucky thing that we were in a good mood and had good warm food in our bellies or it would have been a very long night!)

I guess the name "Sundome" Should have been a warning...but I liked it for it's really good airflow.

With as much time as I spend camping I think it's time I invested in a nice 4 season tent with a rainfly that goes to the ground.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

I was severly disappointed. with a name like Coleman you would think they would be better made.
I am currently using a 10x12 Magellan Tent from Academy. This was its first venture out and We had 12 consecutive days of heavy rains. There was some leakage I beleive from the corners and the center sidewall stake loops. But condsidering the amount of water that came down it wasn't too bad. I had not had a chance to seam seal it before use. However both the tent material and the poles are considerably heavier material than the Coleman

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

I would trade a little rain for some of the heat we have been having here in Pennsylvania! It has been in the 90's all week with the heat index going up over 100! Ugghh it feels more like August that June! Although we are supposed to be getting storm tonight when a front moves through and it should bring us some relief by the weekend!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Last week when we were on vacation all of my pets had to go live with either my brother or my mother in law. Everyone did great except Ducky my leo wouldn't eat for my brother. But I made sure I had her nice and fat before she went. She is happy to be home and is eating great again. Plus my daughter's little teddy bear hamster is doing poorly. I think it might me a combination of her age ( she is 2 years old, life span 2-3 years) and the stress of the move of her cage. She has a touch of wet tail and hasn't been doing good. I have been treating her with Dri Tail. She actually looked slightly better last night than she did the day before. Hoping she pulls through. She was one of the sweetest little hamster I have ever had.

While we were on vacation in Chincoteague VA, we only saw three snakes and one toad. The snakes I am not sure exactly what they were they moved so darn fast but I think I narrowed it down to either black rat snakes or black racers. So tons of snapping turtles in the refuge too. I love birds too and was very happy with the number of different birds I saw. So of them were... loon, mallard, black duck, glossy ibis, great blue heron, little blue heron, snowy egret, cattle egret, great whit heron, skimmers, terns, about 5 different species of seagulls, commerant, kingfisher, avocet, Canada goose, bobwhite quail, and a bunch of other birds I can't think of right now.
