Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
Minnesota is the farthest east I've been.
Forget indoor climbing areas, I've got at least 10 crags within and hour and a half drive of me, If anything I'll move to Red River Gorge in KY or Joshua Tree, CA...longer climbing seasons. I've known people who have lived in their cars for a year driving from rock to rock, I could go for that nomadic sort of life.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
Sounds nice there Rich.
Here we're fairly central. About 1 1/2 hrs to Toronto. A few hours to the border, and an hour and a bit to three different Great Lakes.
Other than that big ice storm a few years back that brought down the power grid on the East Coast, we haven't had any major storm issues.
I think you kind of get bored if you live in an area your whole life and don't realize what's available to you.
Lots of people go to Niagara Falls every year. It's a little under a 2 hr drive for me. But I've seen it too many times already.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
I've lived here all of my life and I keep finding new amazing things to amuse me. Admittedly my area of exploration increases, but you find things in your own back yard sometimes and are amazed that no one ever told you it was there.
We have high alpine wilderness and desert within 2 hours of each other here, lots of variety. Trees, lakes, rocks, tons of wildlife, etc.
Talking about it makes me want to call in sick and go explore!

While there are tons of reasons snakes can't right themselves, There is always the chance it could be inclusion body disease, or another retrovirus.

Yes there is always that chance, he is on the opposite side of the house as Wing and Prayer, I have a pretty big house. I also use scrubs and gloves and that kind of stuff. I am really good at isolation. I am not a fan of paying vet bills for something I could have prevented, lol. He is really skinny, I mean skinny. I gave him a bath late last night, got as many as the mites off as I could, sprayed him reptile relief, he drank like there was no tomorrow, I will try to feed tonight, but it will be something small. I will have to gradually work him up to the proper size of food. I do not want the risk of stressing his insides out and then a regurge. He has an appointment on Saturday morning, so we shall see, and go from there. I really think he is just so underweight that it has caused problems, hopefully he can be saved.
But for now I have to go, I have a van full of disease infested cats that need to go the vet. I will be there all morning, ughh. Not to mention the fact that I did not sleep real well, as they howled ALL NIGHT LONG!
I also feel like I have critters all over me from the mites to the fleas, ickk!
The fleas should not be as bad on them as I popped them all with Advantage.

I would love to go see the falls. Maybe one of these days, we keep having to use our vacations to go up to PA for Brett's family reunion or weddings instead of a real vacation. One of these days his whole family will finally be married and we can do something on our own... I'm starting to worry that we will even have his family along on our honeymoon!
Living where we do we have DC half an hour to the south, Annapolis about half an hour to the east, Baltimore about 20 minutes north, and Gettysburg about 45 minutes north-west. So we have PLENTY of day trips we can take.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
Hey Lacey, have you ever been up this way and seen the Deception Pass Bridge? I know there are a lot of photographers that make great money selling their pictures. If not try to google it, it really is breathtaking, something I take for granted though as I always see it, lol.

The bridge looks old and rusty.
